Working Together
Your capacitor and compressor work together like a car battery and engine, and as you know, batteries tend to give out way before the engine, often leaving you stranded when you turn the key, and nothing happens.
When your capacitor is weakened and can’t start up your compressor, the compressor has to find power somewhere else and starts to pull from the breaker box and other components that hold energy. The longer this happens, the more likely that more parts are damaged.
Adding a Hard Start Kit
Fortunately, there is a simple device we can install to greatly reduce the chances of your capacitor giving out. We recommend that all our clients add a hard start kit, which reduces the start-up amps in half. This removes strain from the compressor and decreases energy use.
With a hard start kit, not only do you protect the longevity of your A/C unit, but you also save money on electricity every time your system starts up.
